Dance... duo shoot Montreal 2020 pt.1
"Dance, when you're broken open. Dance, if you've torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance, when you're perfectly free. Struck, the dancers hear the tambourine inside them, as a wave turns the foam on its very top, begin. Maybe you don't hear that tambourine, all the tree leaves clapping time. Close the ears on your head that listen mostly to lies and cynical jokes. There are other things to hear and see dance, music and a brilliant city inside the soul." ~ Rumi
Many people know the first few lines of this Rumi poem, how many know the rest? I love Rumi... I found myself reading Rumi to my love over video call yesterday evening. How in these times where there's nothing for us to do, I've found myself back in art. Back in love. Back in beauty and simplicity. Rumi lived in the 1200's. His words were classic though... such wisdom for the soul. The understanding of our essence of God. Just timeless works of art.
I do hope this set of images can inspire the same feeling. I was so blessed to meet model Nic Wilroy and work with him. This shoot was our first meeting!! I love the art we created. The photographers with us with Daniel Thibault and Lamarre Line.
For this week I will share the images captured by Daniel Thibault. (The two captured mostly the same poses, but the feel is slightly different, slightly nuanced, and I want to give some space for this art to breathe and live!)
Thank you for dancing this dance of life with me.
I love you!!
